March 1 - 15 May 2024Climber, Expedition Leader to Keynote Groundwater Week in 2024Jim Davidson will be the keynote at Groundwater Week 2020, which is taking place in Las Vegas from December 10-12.Davidson will share his inspiring stories, as well as lessons learned, about how to deal with change, uncertainty, and challenge through resilience.Davidson has climbed mountains on six continents, from Argentina to Nepal to Bolivia and Tibet.Davidson and partners experienced a series of avalanches and massive earthquakes while attempting the first ascent of Mount Everest. In the National Geographic TV show, Witness to Disaster, Davidson told his story about surviving the earthquake. In 2017, Davidson successfully summited Mount Everest.The Ledge: A Story of Inspirational Friendship and Survival, a New York Times bestseller survival memoir co-authored by Davidson. Amazon selected the book as one of the Best Books for the Year. His epic survival tale was featured on an international television episode of "I Shouldn't Be Alive", which aired on Discovery Channel.The Next Everest is his most recent book. It tells of the terrifying story of his first encounter with Everest. The two years that he spent mentally re-building, and finally the triumphant achievement of reaching his goal.Davidson was a hydrogeologist and ran his own consulting firm.
